Colossians 1:9–14(KJV 1900) — 9For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
The difference between a true born again believer and a make believer is quite simple.....a true believer has been changed, but not by any 12 step program or self help book....a true believer has been changed by God....Men by their very nature don't like change.....The Apostle Paul made it his life work to persecute the Church of Jesus Christ....he had no desire to change....and in one instant on the Damascus Road, his life was changed forever.....He went from persecuting the Church in one minute to fighting for it till death the next.....this type of change doesn't occur naturally.....The Bible says in Colossians that we have been delivered from the power of darkness...and TRANSLATED into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ....we are strengthened with all might....because of His glorious power! I know this is out of order but the Bible says above that we should also walk worthy of the Lord and increase in the knowledge of God.....The work which Jesus did on the cross was a finished work, that is true....but when we are translated into His Kingdom [born again] our work is not finished, in fact, it has just begun.....Our life's work on this earth is to be a light all our days, and the more we increase in the knowledge of God, through the written word and prayer, the brighter our lights will shine... I hope and pray that you all have a blessed day! Pastor Scott
