Job 23:8–12(KJV 1900) — 8Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; And backward, but I cannot perceive him:9On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him:He hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:10But he knoweth the way that I take:When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.11My foot hath held his steps,His way have I kept, and not declined.12Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
I trust we've all had times in our lives when we wondered where God was....I remember being in a service at another Church for an association service many years ago, and the pastors wife stood up and was upset that so many atrocities were happening all over the world at the time, and I remember her crying out, "God where are you"!? as if she were literally angry at God!! I remember feeling a bit dumbfounded as this was a pastors wife speaking....now, just so we know, the Lord is on His throne....it's not His fault we messed everything up in the Garden of Eden....it's not His fault we aren't in Paradise anymore....and we are reminded every day this world is NOT paradise! Yes there are times we think He isn't acting fast enough on our behalf or maybe on someone else's behalf, but make no mistake, GOD IS AT WORK!! When we find ourselves in Jobs condition, or the Pastors wife's condition, we need to take particular note of verse 12 above: .12Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. We find peace and comfort and fellowship within the Words of the Living God! My prayer for you today is that you'll find a reading program that will get you through the Bible in a year and stay on that path for the rest of your life....God will indeed bless you immensely ..... may your day be blessed!!
