Colossians 1:12–15(KJV 1900) — 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: The Greek word for image is icon [transliterated into English]....and it can mean a statue or likeness.....mankind was created in the "image" of God....but we are not a perfect image of our Lord....we possess the ability to make choices, we can think and feel.....but we are not images in a moral sense as God is absolutely holy, and we are not.....We do not possess our Lords omniscience, omnipotence, or omnipresence.....We are human, not divine... What happened in the Garden of Eden was foreknown by our Omniscient God [don't argue with that, it has to be so] ... Adam and Eve were innocent, free from sin, and incapable of dying.....they forfeited those qualities when they did sin..... Unlike man, Jesus Christ is the perfect and absolute accurate image of God.....He has been from all eternity....Hebrews 1:3 says He is the brightness of God's glory! Just like the light outside is a reflection of the sun, Jesus Christ is the brightness/ reflection of the Father..... The good news is that, even though we are born into this world with the fallenness of Adam and Eve, we can be restored...the Bible says in: 2 Corinthians 3:18(KJV 1900) — 18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. if we are Christians, we've been changed....and we are to be an image of our Lord Jesus Christ....one day...one day, God will make believers sinless like Christ --but only when we enter the final phase of our eternal life. Praise be to the Lord! Are you living in His image today....when people see you, do they see a Christian?? I pray they do....God bless your day!!
