“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16, KJV 1900)
“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, KJV 1900) Effective Prayer = one that functions properly Affective Prayer = is defined as the orientation of a prayer in which one seeks to unite one’s will more directly to God’s ….it engages one’s emotions or feelings in loving and positive ways … I think we all know that we have a hard time with affective prayer, which in turn, makes our prayers ineffective....most of us think that our will should be God's will...even though we know that isn't right, our hearts still hold on to that premise which, in turn, causes our spiritual lives, prayer lives, to suffer.... Let us always remember our Lord's example, in the Garden, praying as it were, great drops of blood pouring from his forehead....and asking the Father to remove the cup from him [of suffering]....but at the end of His prayer time, He said what we had better say always: "Nevertheless not Mine, but Thy will be done"
