Climate Change?

9/23/2019

You can't read a newspaper or watch the news these days without hearing something about "climate change"....notice that this narrative has changed over the decades as we were once told there would be an ice age coming, and more recently we've heard about "global warming" and since these 2 may or may not fit the narrative, we've gotten the term "climate change" thrown around ad nauseam..... and people get emotional over it! Last week there were high school kids skipping school, probably driving vehicles [carbon emissions anyone?] to get to some sort of climate change conference, and they had kids up on the stage screeching about this issue as though we somehow have ANY control over it!?? Now, we as Christians understand the dilemma of people who don't or won't believe in the Creator....by the way, you can't have creation without a Creator....and there is only one manuscript ever produced where the Creator claimed His creation, and of course that manuscript is the Bible.....We know that people who won't believe in God also believe that this earth is their Paradise.....and if I believed this earth was my Paradise and if I believed mankind had some kind of control over the environment, I too would have gone off the deep end in some fashion....but this is not the reality....and the funny thing is, no scientist with any integrity would ever tell you we have control over it either....but listen to what the Bible says:

Nehemiah 9:6 (KJV 1900) — 6 Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
Psalm 24:1 (KJV 1900) — 1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.
Colossians 1:12–17 (KJV 1900) — 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
I made sure to emphasize that all things consist by the Lord God....now you may say, but the world is in such disarray! We have hurricanes and tsunamis and earthquakes etc etc....God doesn't seem to be doing a very good job of taking care of the earth ... you might think that....however, rest assured, the reason why the earth is in such disarray has nothing to do with mans treatment of the environment or the carbon cycle....it has everything to do with a three letter word: SIN

I promise you there were no measurable carbon emissions, no factories or vehicles or spray cans or power plants pumping pollution up in the skies the day Sodom and Gomorra got "globally warmed"......

One of these days the earth is going to be destroyed [purified] by fire.....I don't know the means, but I know that God has already said it would be so.....we can spend millions of dollars promoting ways to "save the environment" [and I'm all for "common sense" and taking care of the environment best we can] but as long as men and women are living in open rebellion against God, there are going to be atmospheric calamities on this earth .... and it is going to get worse....just read the Book of Revelation....during the Great Tribulation there will be calamity worse than ever imagined coming from our own solar system....

So what should we do?? Well, I would think making peace with the Creator of the Universe would be step 1.....do you love God? Do you pray to Him? have you trusted Christ as your Savior? When you have peace with God, a funny thing happens.....everything else that goes on in the universe seems to have little importance.....we can live our lives in the light of His love and grace....not in the fear of what may or may not happen.....I trust you know Christ today....if not, please pray to Him even now.....Sodom and Gomorra are becoming more and more innocent compared to this nation of ours.....I wouldn't put it off....

God bless your day!

"The Image of God"

Colossians 1:12–15(KJV 1900) — 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

The Greek word for image is icon [transliterated into English]....and it can mean a statue or likeness.....mankind was created in the "image" of God....but we are not a perfect image of our Lord....we possess the ability to make choices, we can think and feel.....but we are not images in a moral sense as God is absolutely holy, and we are not.....We do not possess our Lords omniscience, omnipotence, or omnipresence.....We are human, not divine...

What happened in the Garden of Eden was foreknown by our Omniscient God [don't argue with that, it has to be so] ... Adam and Eve were innocent, free from sin, and incapable of dying.....they forfeited those qualities when they did sin.....

Unlike man, Jesus Christ is the perfect and absolute accurate image of God.....He has been from all eternity....Hebrews 1:3 says He is the brightness of God's glory! Just like the light outside is a reflection of the sun, Jesus Christ is the brightness/ reflection of the Father.....

The good news is that, even though we are born into this world with the fallenness of Adam and Eve, we can be restored...the Bible says in:

2 Corinthians 3:18(KJV 1900) — 18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
if we are Christians, we've been changed....and we are to be an image of our Lord Jesus Christ....one day...one day, God will make believers sinless like Christ --but only when we enter the final phase of our eternal life. Praise be to the Lord!

Are you living in His image today....when people see you, do they see a Christian??

I pray they do....God bless your day!!
