My morning reading was in Genesis when Sarai told Abraham to have a child with Hagar....and the Arab nation was born:
Genesis 16:9–15(KJV 1900) — 9And the angel of the Lordsaid unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. 10And the angel of the Lordsaid unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. 11And the angel of the Lordsaid unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lordhath heard thy affliction. 12And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. 13And she called the name of the Lordthat spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? 14Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. 15And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. Over the years we have watched Presidents and Diplomats speak about peace in the Middle East. It's fascinating that most of these people would consider themselves Christians but yet be so uninformed in the Word of God. It's also funny how people who deny the Bible to be true can, with a straight face, look past prophecies such as this and not at least be respectful of how uncanny this has turned out to be. I have an announcement: there will be no peace in the Middle East. There I said it and I feel better! Haha! You see, the Bible says it, and whether I believe it or not, it's true.....God said this Ishamael would be a wild man....his hand against every man, and every man's hand against him.....hard to have peace talks with that kind of conflict going on.... Will this ever change?? Absolutely, but not in this age....The Bible teaches us in Ezekiel and Revelation of time when there will be peace on earth....but only when Jesus makes His Triumphant return Revelation 21:1–4(KJV 1900) — 1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. We look forward to that day, but until then, the Lord has promised us the grace and love to get us through whatever situations we may encounter in this world that, at times, seems filled with hate and conflict.... God bless your day! Pastor Scott

I'd like to start by saying on this day [9/11] we pause to reflect the senseless loss of life that occurred back in 2001....if you were alive then you probably know exactly where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news....I certainly do....we pray for the families of the victims today, and for our leaders to be able to effectively deal with the growing issues of terrorism.....God bless them all...
Psalm 122:1(KJV 1900) — 1I was glad when they said unto me,Let us go into the house of the Lord. Matthew 16:17–18(KJV 1900) — 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. John 15:16–18(KJV 1900) — 16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. I read an article in Fox News entitled "Young Christians are leaving the Church--here's why" by J. Warner Wallace. He went through a number of reasons kids became "Ex Christians" and left the Church....and it would seem the point of the article is that we can do something to change that..... However, his article is flawed....you cannot become an "ex Christian" .... you are either born again or you are not....a person may identify themselves as a Christian as a boy may identify himself as a girl....that does not make it true....the premise to the article is hilarious as you look at Church history when Rome was martyring Christians left and right in the beginning.....and people were NOT leaving the Church....even though their lives were in danger.....why is that?? How did the Church survive? What if that article had been written then?? The Apostle John was cast on an island prison [Patmos], the leader of the Church, his 11 best friends murdered violently.....5 of the 7 churches [Rev. 2 and 3] were in dire straits, and Christianity meant the death penalty....you'd think Christianity was doomed....but here we are discussing why a bunch of kids won't stay in the Church as if we could keep them there or even want to [in other words, we don't make the Church entertainment centers because it doesn't work anyway].....people that have been born again know the truth that sets them free, and they will find a Church to worship....there is no perfect Church, but our God is perfect....and we certainly need His mercy and grace and help as we go through this Paradise-less world....May God bless your day today, and be confident that Jesus is Alive and Well AMEN! SW 2 Kings 22:8–11(KJV 1900) — 8And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 9And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the Lord. 10And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. 11And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
The Word of our Lord will never go away, be destroyed, become powerless....it is alive and breathing....perpetually so....in all ages and in all ages to come.....here was a case where wicked people such as Manasseh thought he'd destroyed this most sacred of all Books, and yet he missed one....The world will decay and rot and at some point be destroyed, but God's Word never will AMEN! There have always been many who have sought to slander the Bible and it's main objects: God the Father, God the Son, God the Spirit.....Thomas Payne said in his book The Age of Reason that within a hundred years the bible will be obsolete.....well, that 100 years plus Thomas Payne and Voltaire and men of their ilk have come and gone, but the Word of God remains! Read your Bible today! Find out why it is the most published Book bar none of all time.....in it we find life, a life more abundant.....a life filled with hope no matter the circumstances in the world around us.....a life of peace and joy no matter our earthly status....this is the Power of the Bible! God bless your day! SW |
