 Jesus when on the cross quoted this 1st verse in Hebrew and I don’t think there is any doubt that He was letting them know that everything that would happen that day had already been written 700 years before! This Psalm is a reference to the suffering and brutality of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ...Let us never forget the agony and pain we’ve caused Him before we were ever born.....and let us repent of all the pain we cause Him with our sins every day

 After Joshua delivered his famous profession of faith [as for me and my house we will serve the Lord], the people said we will will also serve the Lord and Joshua gave this reply starting in verse 19....It is as though Joshua is telling the people....these aren’t just idle words that we say....we can’t just SAY we are going to serve the Lord, we must DO it....and that means getting rid of the foreign gods which many evidently still had small idols tucked away in their possession....My prayer is that the Lord forgive us where we spend too much time thinking about other things and not near enough time thinking about Him
