It is very difficult to take verses like these and not realize God has a plan in salvation......God has foreknowledge....God has preordained.....God is God....if it weren’t for His predeterminate counsel, would anyone be saved? I hardly think so ....The Bible says there is none righteous, no not one....none that doeth good....do we think we are the 1 that defies that truth??
it also does much harm to the Christian community when we think we choose Christ....because that little play on words indirectly exalts ones self or their choices [instead of the only One worthy of exaltation and that is the Lord Jesus Christ].....As born again believers though, we don’t live our lives in some sense of false pride that we were “chosen” but we live our lives in humility knowing we are safe and secure in Christ, and we live our lives praying for those who don’t know the Saviour that we love......We labor till our Master comes.....this is the essence of the Christian life Hope you all have a Blessed Monday!! the Shepherds job is to guide and protect the sheep....David is reminding us here that the Great Shepherd will give us no reason to fear evil.....the Hebrew word here for evil means various things: adversity, affliction, calamity, displeasure, misery, wretchedness, wrong amongst others.....Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have no reason to fear any of these things! The mind is a funny thing....if you tell yourself you are scared to death of________, chances are your brain starts firing off neurons [the old survival instinct] and you become afraid....if you aren't careful this situation can consume you.....we need to engulf our minds with the Word of God....Let His Word be our guide....Let His Word affect our thoughts and feelings.....I will NOT fear! God wouldn't ask us to do something we aren't able....let us keep that in mind next time we find ourselves in a dark valley! God bless you this fine day!
Pastor Scott The most important contact we have is probably not listed on our cell phones! Let us always remember to contact our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ our Lord in the Power of the Holy Spirit early and often today and every day! Let's all have a blessed Monday!
On a day that looks like rain which may hinder outdoor work, let us be reminded that nothing [but ourselves] can hinder us from our relationship with God. Spend much time in prayer today and thoughtful meditations in the Word of God......in other words, Have a Blessed Friday! 🙏 Let us always be reminded the Christian life is a spiritual life.....we don't wrestle against flesh and blood....I mean, I know we do, but it's a fruitless exercise in futility....Let's spend today nurturing the Spiritual life...pray, read your Bible, love your neighbor [even the ones you don't "like"]....Let's make the day count for Jesus !
