To Be Whole

Mark 6:53–56(KJV 1900) — 53And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. 54And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him, 55And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. 56And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

I would to the Lord that we would all have this same devotion for the comfort that only the Lord can give.....back in those days they didn't have hospitals and health care the way that we know it today.....My Great Grandpa Elbert Taylor was a minister for decades back from the depression years up through the early 1960's.....he kept a journal of people that had asked him to come and pray for them and, if they gave him a gift, he kept record of it....cans of green beans, apples, sometimes a dollar, etc.....he kept record, and you know what? God kept record of those prayers and of those gifts as well.....My grandmas sister one time asked my Grandmother, what ever happened to men like Elbert Taylor???? I jumped in the conversation and said "Aunt Marjorie, people pick up the phone and call the doctor now, a majority of people don't even consider prayer I don't imagine" .... she looked at me and said, you're probably right....sadly, we should use faith and common sense....but faith should come first.....prayer changes things.....in those days people had no doctor to run to, no ER to run to for comfort....but they did everything they could to get to the Lord....I pray that more people would do the same today....God promised those people back then, and all of us today, that grace to get us through ANY and EVERY situation and discomfort we may ever have to go through.....

Psalm 138:3(KJV 1900) — 3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me,And strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever....please call on Him today! God bless your day

Offended at Jesus?

Mark 6:1–6(KJV 1900) — 1And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 2And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? 3Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. 5And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

The sad statement here is that Jesus was right in front of their eyes and they rejected Him....not only did they reject Him, they also insulted Him by calling Jesus the “Son of Mary”....we may read past this and not realize that, in those days, to call one the son of their mother is the same as calling one a fatherless child. I think this condition well describes the world today.....European countries who at one time had Christians banding together to build huge cathedrals for our Lord and saw many come to Christ have come to naught.....They say the Metropolitan where Charles Spurgeon preached to thousands on a Sunday is reduced to less than a hundred these days....how sad it is that Christ has blessed this world so much with His Presence and Spirit, and yet people are now offended at Him....but, no worries, the day will come when those who have been offended at Him and His children will get to be separated once and for all for all eternity from Christ and His Church....they may wish that day were now, but when it happens, they will certainly wish things could be different....please pray for the lost and all those who are “offended at Him”......let us never hinder the mighty work of the Lord!

God bless your day!

The Day the Lord Has Made

Psalm 118:17–24(KJV 1900) — 17I shall not die, but live,And declare the works of the Lord.18The Lordhath chastened me sore:But he hath not given me over unto death.19Open to me the gates of righteousness:I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord:20This gate of the Lord,Into which the righteous shall enter.21I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me,And art become my salvation.22The stone which the builders refusedIs become the head stone of the corner.23This is the Lord’s doing; It is marvellous in our eyes.24This is the day which the Lord hath made;We will rejoice and be glad in it.

I believe one of the worst burdens people carry around are worry and anxiety.....over things that happened yesterday or things that may or may not happen tomorrow.....in the midst of these burdens we are missing out the most important day and that is today! So many Scriptures remind us of the blessing of today! And remind us that the God of all creation has told us to cast our burdens upon Him! So He can handle what we are worrying about yesterday or tomorrow....so that we can enjoy blissful peace in His Presence today!! What is hindering you from being blessed today? What is hindering you from being joyful right now? I promise you, the same Jesus that slept in the hull of the ship while the storms were raging can still silence the storms that rage around you right now....I pray that you know the reality of Gods peace today! This is the day the Lord hath made....We WILL rejoice and be glad in it! AMEN!

May God bless you this wonderful Lords Day!
